The world's first MicroGEO was Arcturus, a Ka-band communications satellite. All Astranis-designed hardware continues to work flawlessly on orbit, where the satellite continues to complete missions for commercial and defense customers.

Astranis UtilitySat
MicroGEO
LAUNCH DATE: 2024
UtilitySat is the world’s first multi-mission commercial GEO satellite, capable of conducting fully operational broadband connectivity missions in Ka, Ku, and Q/V bands. A fully maneuverable satellite with onboard propulsion, UtilitySat will perform multiple such missions throughout its life on orbit — relocating or repointing each year, month, or day to serve urgent customer needs.
One UtilitySat is on orbit today, but it is just the first of many. Astranis will build and operate a fleet of UtilitySat satellites in the coming years.

Astranis Omega

LAUNCH DATE: 2026
Omega is a broadband communications system with better pound-for-pound performance than any other geostationary satellite in orbit today. It will offer 50+ Gbps of dedicated, uncontended throughput per satellite while maintaining Astranis’s MicroGEO, small satellite form factor.
The first Omega vehicle will be built in 2025 and launched in 2026. Astranis is actively selling Omega satellite connectivity today.

Astranis Nexus

The Space Force recently announced Astranis’s selection to design next-generation Resilient GPS satellites — and that new satellite design is Astranis Nexus.
Nexus leverages Astranis’s experience building small satellites for high orbits, and applies it to a new mission critical to both national security and the economy: making America’s GPS constellations more resilient to jamming, spoofing, and kinetic attack.

Space-tested, space-validated
We launched our first MicroGEO satellite in 2023 — Arcturus. Since then, we've launched four more. Astranis satellites are now executing communications missions for government and commercial customers around the world, with all Astranis-designed hardware working perfectly on orbit.
